Dynamo defensive system of play is based on working as a line in order to get compact and deny penetration in the different thirds of the field
-players must recognize the visual cues to press and when to stay or drop
-an emphasis is placed on communicating when to press/hold/drop
-players must move as a line by providing pressure, cover and balance.
-organization (get compact/stay compact)
- make play predictable (force play into pressure or backwards)
- press to regain possession

Dynamo Attacking Formation
Width
-wide players will be encouraged to hug the line and create passing lanes as well as stretch the field to create space
-players will be encouraged to drive in to look for 2v1s (overlap from fullbacks)
-players must be understand when to pitch in and when to stay wide and when to tuck in centrally
-Depth
-in order to triangulate and create multiple passing lanes there must always be at least one safe pass behind the ball (center backs/goalkeeper) made from center midfielders or fullbacks
-2nd attacker must always check in to provide support to the first attacker in order to penetrate, keep possession of the ball or to switch the point of attack
-passing backwards is always the last option if the player cannot bring the ball forward
-short-short-long combination
Length
-forwards and midfielders will be encouraged to have an open body shape in order to penetrate forward
-1st attacker must recognize runs by 2nd attacker and 3rd attacker in front of the ball
-players will be encouraged to vary the type of runs in order to get behind/between defensive lines
-pull players out of position by constantly finding open space
