Set Up: Half pitch with large goals at one end, 2 x trarget goals on half way line. 2 teams positioned side of large goal & in between target goals. Game is 2v2.
Coach plays ball into Reds in between target goals, 2 blues come out to defend & game is played 2v2, Reds attempt to score in big goal, blues defend & try to win to counter, Once that ball is played coach will then play into Blues & they look to counter attack against Reds & score in target goals. Game will then stop & replayed with new players. Play 3 mins then switch.
Progressions: Play 3v3 or overloads.
Key Points: Attacking play & movement to open pitch up & create space, movement to create overloads or 1v1's, decision making on ball & speed of play, 1st touch & passing, finishing, defending skills, transition play.
