*3-4yard gate at each end of the area
Description:
*players in teams of 2
*1 team shares ball between gates, each time they successfully pass through the gate to a teammate = 1pt

*if the outside teams hit the ball, they switch roles and become the players passing through gates
*first to 10pts wins
*ball must stay on the ground
Coaching points:
1. Inside of foot vs laces (inside for accuracy over short distances, laces for power & pace of medium to long distances)
2. Plant foot beside ball, weight bearing & balance (pointing to target)
3. Windup and follow through for power & accuracy (follow through to target with hips, shoulders & leg)
4. Striking point should be the middle, center of the ball
5. Timing of your pass - early (pass in front of their ball) or late (pass behind their ball)
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
*4 attackers occupy a space each on the outside of the area
*2 defenders are split into a half each, cannot cross into each others half (could split defenders area into 4 corners/boxes for defenders - can be harder to mark and involves a lot of cones)
*Start with a 10x10 area and look to squeeze the size as players get comfortable
*make sure players understand they are not to move into other players 3m bubble, we are not looking to tackle & win the ball, defenders are looking to anticipate and intercept
Description:
*Attackers look to score a point by playing a successful pass either North/South or East/West through the area
*Defenders look to intercept the ball & score their point by securing a pass to coach / pug net off the field
*Attackers can move freely along the outside, but cannot cut through the square - must travel along the outside (cannot occupy same area as a teammate)
*Defenders are able to rotate areas, just cannot occupy the same space at the same time (or break 3m distance)
Progressions:
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.

*Players split into two teams
*Each player has their own 5x5 box
