Intro (5 mins)

Players pass the ball around the triangle. Player stands behind the cone, and uses as a target to touch around. Once player takes a good directional first touch around the cone, they play it to the next line.

In this progression, players just stay in the lines they start in.

Change the direction of passing after a few minutes.

Coaching points:

Up on toes ready to receive pass.

Good directional first touch

Nice, firm pass on the ground to target's feet.

Communicate and call for the ball.

Checking To (10 mins)

In this Progression, the players go to the line to which they are passing to.

It starts with 1 passing to 2.

2 checks away from the cone and towards 1 and calls for the ball. He then performs some type of turn with a directional first touch and plays the ball to 3.

3 checks away from the cone while calling for the ball. Once he receives it, he explodes forward, dribbling into space, then lays the ball off to 1 to restart the passing sequence.

Change direction and 3 becomes 2 and 2 becomes 3.

Adding Combinations (10 mins)

In this progression, 1 will initiate the passing sequence.

1 passes to 2, and immediately checks into space.

2 plays the ball right back to 1, combining. Once the ball is played back to 1, he loops around and looks to go combine with 3.

1 plays a ball (1 touch if possible) to 3, who is checking to in front of the cone.

3 plays a ball into 2's path and then moves into space calling for the ball right back.

2 will play the ball into the path of 3, who then takes a touch and dribbles a few paces, and lays the ball off to 1 to restart the sequence.

Change direction of passing sequence. 2 becomes 1 and 1 becomes 2. 3 stays the same
