Rules/explanation
- 2 defenders have 1 minute to win the ball as many times as possible
- Once they win it from one group, they will move to the other. Repeat for 1 min
- Defenders will swap after 1 minute
Coaching cues
- Closest defender to press the ball carried with intent on winning the ball
- Can you show the ball carrier one way whilst looking to win the ball
- 2nd defender in a position to block the passing lane but also able to step onto the ball when he becomes closest defender
- When the 2nd defender becomes the closest defender, can you arrive on the ball carries first touch

Rules/explanation
- If you win the ball in front 3rd then score = 3 points
- If you win the ball in middle 3rd then score = 2 points
- Any other goal = 1 point
Coaching cues
- Looking to press from the front
- Front 2 to look after 3 defenders and show wide
- Wingbacks release when ball is travelling to opposite wingbacks
- Centre half and opposite defender slide across
- Man for man centrally. Can you possibly release whilst blocking passing lane to your man and help front 2 once they have shown wide?
- Opposite striker to do a job on the midfielder if this happens
