Objectives

1) Understand what part of the foot to use to correctly pass the ball

2) Understand the correct body mechanics of how to pass a ball

3) Understand when to use different types of passes depending upon what the situatuon is.

Warm up - Passing Gates (10 mins)

Warm up - Passing Gates

Each Rep is 60 seconds each.

Rep 1 - You can only use your hands and you are only allowed to jump

Rep 2 - How else can we move from gate to gate?

Rep 3 - How else can we move the ball from gate to gate?

Rep 4 - Passing - What part of the foot can we use and how should our legs be when we pass?

Rep 5 - Where does your foot follow through to and where does your standing foot want to point?

Rep 6 - What part of the ball do we want to hit? Eyes, nose or mouth?

Technical Coaching Points

1) Relaxed legs

2) Follow through pointing towards player

3) Standing foot points at other players

4) Depending on the situation, you might want to hit a different part of the ball

5) Use inside of the foot to play a push-pass

Each Rep is 60 seconds

Rep 1 - Can only stand in the goal to block it off

Rep 2 - Can only win the ball by standing in the goal if they look to pass it.

Rep 3 - Can win the ball anywhere and then dribble it outside the square then give it back to pairs (IMMEDIATE CHASE)

Rep 4-6 - Ask players how they can improve what they are doing with their partner.

If the attackers lose the ball = IMMEDIATE CHASE! When the defender wins the ball they must dribble at one of the goals and play a pass into the goal to score.

Every rep is 60 seconds

Rep 1-3 = Change bandits constantly and focus on the passing action.

Rep 4-6 = If the attackers make 3 successful passes through gates, they can now score a goal! If the defender happens to win the ball from them, they must then go and score in the opposite goal.
