Improving Team's ability to Build up using wide players

Organization:
- Half of a field set up as shown/40x40yd space if available
- players set up at each of the 4 corners of the field
- Soccer balls set up at corners A and C
Instructions:
1. Actions started off with 1 ball at Station A
2. Player at station A plays a pass to Player B. Player B takes a touch then serves a lofted/driven diagonal ball to Player C
3. Player C then receives the ball takes then plays a pass to Player D. Player D takes a touch out of his feet and serves a ball to Player A
4. Players must follow their pass to the next station
4. The Activity it repeated for 8-10 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. Eye Contact between players before serves or passes.
2. Select appropriate surface for lofted/driven serves. Players must connect with the under surface of the ball to lift it off ground
3. Follow through after impact with ball especially on lofted serves
4. Appropriate surface for receiving serves vs passes
5. quick movement between stations after passes
Progressions:
P1 - repeat activity with two soccer balls
P2 - increase distance for bigger serves
Regression - Reduce playing area

Organization:
- Playing Area Half of a field/whatever space available preferably a 50x50yd area
- 4 stations setup as shown with a goal and 2 Gks
- Stations A & B with lots of soccer balls
Instructions:
1. Player A plays ball to Player B and immediately makes an overlapping run around Player B for the Give and Go.
2. Player B receives the pass and plays a searching ball in the path of Player A then makes a run into the box.
3. Player A must then control the ball make eye contact with the moving Player B then serve a lofted or driven ball INTO THE PATH of the runner.
4. Player B must finish the play with a 1/2 touch finish on goal.
5. Players C&D then mirrors the activity after A&B are through.
6. Goalkeepers rotate every 4 shots
7 Rotation for field players is; A => B => C => D =>A
Coaching Points:
1. Players must make eye contact before delivering passes/serves
2. Timing of the runs - make banana run to end on back post, so as to always be in front the ball
3. Positive touches out the feet for serves and searching balls down the wing
4.Communication- Verbal and Visual communication among the players off the ball and the crosser.
Progressions:
Progression- Have Goalkeeper come off his line to receive crosses
Progression- Introduce Defenders to track attackers runs
Regression: Reduce the space of the playing Area/ eliminate Overlap and just have B receive ball and make run down the wing

Organization:
1. Full or half field divided into thirds. Defensive, Mid, and Attacking thirds
2. Team divided into three groups with each team placed in a third as shown
3. Lots of balls in either goals
Instructions:
1. Ball started with team in the Mid (Neutral) third. Blue/Yellow team must attack either goal. The moment they cross over into a third they would be attacking that team. In the display Blue/yellow is attacking Black/white team
2. As the team enters the black team's defensive third the Black team is allowed to challenge for the ball and game is live. Blue team can either score directly on goal or play ball wide have have a cross for shot on goal
3. If the Black teams wins ball possession they must play the ball out into the neutral/mid third and make their way towards the red teams defensive third.
4. As the black teams crosses into the Red teams third the game is live and activities are repeated.
5. Teams score 2pts for a goal directly from the middle or 5pts if goal is scored from a cross.
6. Game is played to 10pts or 10mins.
7. Game is restarted from GK every time ball goes out of play.
Coaching Points:
1. Quality and direction of first touch
2. Quality of passes and serves
3. Selecting the appropriate surface for finishing based on type of serve
4. Timing of runs from strikers and players movement of the ball
5. Strikers awareness of goalkeepers positioning as well has defensive players when finishing
Progressions:
1. P – Goals can only be scored from wide plays.
2. P – WIde players are uncontested when in ball possession

Dynamic WU - lofted Balls (15 mins)
Organization:
4-5 Players set up as shown
area is 40X10 yard Area
One ball per group
Instructions:
- Players dribble to the middle of the area highlight by red cone
- when the dribbling player gets to the cone he/she must pass to the player at opposite end of the area then start some type of dynamic movement to the opposite end.
- Drill then progresses to Lofted and Driven Serves
- Player who receives the pass then repeats the activity
- Dynamic stretches can include, skips, open gates, close gates, sprints, etc.
Coaching Points:
-passes should be sharp out of the feet
- pass the ball to teammates/attackers leading foot
- communication about where to pass or what foot to pass to
- open body motion/angle of approach before receiving pass
- eye contact before making pass
Progressions:
P1 - increase the distance of the area
Regression - reduce area
