See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Set up:
30x20 grid with 2 coned end zones (red cones) and a middle defined sqaure (yellow cones)
3 teams of 4 (can increase #'s as needed), 1 team in each end zone & 1 team in the box. Attacking / offensive teams are in the endzones w. defending team in the box.
Coach gives ball to one of the end zone teams (shown in blue). Each end zone team must pass the ball at least 3x and then look to switch fields and play a ball to the opposite end zone to keep possessoin. The defending team (black) can ONLY send 2 defenders into each zone to press and try and win the ball. Should the defenders win the ball, the attacking team (blue) that lost the ball must head to the box. Defending team (black) takes over as attackers in the open end zone, ball heads to the opposite end zone (red) to quickly restart the game with 3 passes.
This is a continuous game w. players moving from attacking to defending in rapid fashion. Coach will need to support players in order to find the rhythm of the game.
Should an endzone team play a ball through the box the defending players can intercept and win the ball!
Progressions:
- Allow 2 box defenders to roam free in the middle to cut off passes to the other end zone
- Allow endzone attacking players to dribble into the middle zone to play ball to other endzone
- Require 5 passes before playing to other endzone
- Allow for 3 defenders to come out of box to defend
Coaching Points:
- Take a peak over your shoulder
- Change the angle w/ 1st touch
- Move & receive
- Receive away from pressure
- Create space & time by using full allotted zone space
- Positive 1st touch into middle zone during progression to attack space and play through
