Shooting with Front Three (9,11, & 7)
Objective: Warm up the front three with shooting technique, movement, & awareness.
Progression:
1) A drives at C; and B opens up from being man marked by C. A has option to play B for give and go or take C and go outside with shot. If A plays B, B has option to lay it back off or open up her hips to receive and shoot or let it run across her to shoot.
*While Shot is being taken; All three crash goal for rebound! Frame the goal (one central, two outside).
A goes to B, B goes to C, C goes to A
3-4 rounds each at each spot
2) A drives a C, B drifts wide at the beginning and C follows her. Then B makes a diagonal run in behind C. A has option to play B (if C doesn't follow run) or take it herself (if C follows run). If A plays B, B has option to shoot or play A who continues her run to the Penality box.
*While Shot is being taken; All three crash goal for rebound! Frame the goal (one central, two outside).

1) Kick ball in air. And have players defend by heading it out up and high.
2) Defend crosses. One defender comes out to service and the two defend cross with one attacker in box.
What are the cues to drop and defend? Are you adjusting your feet when the ball comes in? When you are going to the ball, are you communicating? How are we clearing it. What is the response for the defenders?

U11-U12: Crossing and Finishing Progression
1) A takes diagonal touch and finishes on goal while C is the chaser and provides pressure on shooter without winning the ball.
2) B takes a diagonal touch down the line and plays 2v1 (A+B vs C). A looks to get open while C is trying to prevent B from penetrating towards goal and preventing pass to A.
(Purpose is not for defender to keep winning, need to teach decision making for players on the ball)
Rotation: A > B > C
3) Switch servers
Coaching Points: Decision making, timing of runs, crossing and finishing
*** Back Four works on functional stuff by themselves while attackers are working on crossing and finishing

Coaching points:
ABC
C - check furthest pass (split ball first)
Progression of Passes:
First Pass: person next to you (easiest pass)
Second Pass: Skip the person next to you. Still doesn't beat defenders but requires better vision and execution
Third Pass: Split pass. Best pass in soccer as it beats the most defenders.
