5v2 - Over River (25 mins)

Organization:

• Three teams of 5 players
• 20Lx8W - Two Boxes 8x8 - 4 yard Channel 
• Timing: 4x2mins 
• AC - Manage behavior against the ball - both serve balls in 
• Teams: Alex T, Noah, Linke, Chris, Liam K // Jacob, Joao, Wyatt, Keanu, Zain // Coach, Liam M, Sean, Asa, Matt

Instructions:

• Teams must connect two pass to attract the opponent before advancing the ball 
• The team in the opposite possession area must provide support - showing in the central zone or parking zones on the outside 
• Teams score for every successful advance action - Through, around or over 
• The defending team score by winning the ball and connecting back to the resting team or by pressing and scoring forward in SSG
• Quick transition to switch when ball is lost or regained

Coaching Points:

• Attract the opponent with short passes before looking further 
• All Players Active & Available - Far zone must stay focused to offer support in wide areas 
• Body orientation to pass forward - Catch & Play 
• First touch in relation to pressure

Score:

• 1 Point for passes into the next zone using the wide players or playing over 
• 2 Points for playing through the middle
• 1 Point for recovering the ball and connecting backwards 
• 2 Points for pressing and scoring forwards 
• Team Captains Manage the Score

• 55L x 40W - R/Line 27 yards - Six Yard Zone 
• 7v7+1 
• 3x5min games 

• T1 - Boaz, Alex T, Noah, Wyatt, Asa, Liam M, Joao, Chris
• T2 - Kez, Linke, Jacob, Sean, Keanu, Liam K, Zain, Matt

Instructions:

• Zone 1 - Three Touches 
• Zone 2 - One Touch 
• Zone 3 - No Touch Limit 
• Must be up to offside line for goals to stand 
• All restarts from the GK

Coaching Points/Questions:

• 9# Link up play - timing to show back to the ball 
• 9# ability to create from the Red Zone - up, back, through - creative ways of playing in behind
• Runners ahead of 9# when showing in - FB in the attack - both - balance?  
• Counter attacking or progressive possession - GK has to decide in moment of transition
