Organisation/Conditions
Full width and half pitch game 9v9 inc.GK (no CBs therefore chose smaller pitch for purpose of practice)
Blues - 2FB, 2CDM, 2WP, 10, Striker
Reds - Back 4, 2 Midfielders, 2 Strkers
Normal rules apply. Ball will start in normal match situations unless from Blue GK to get session objectives across.
Targets/Challenges
Goals as normal although if Blues score via a 2v1 in wide area then double points.
Reds to score as quick as possible being very direct.
Key Points
Coaching points apply from function but will now apply to both sides (left and right sided).
Progressions
Red 10 drops deeper to casue problem in midfield for Blues

Manage the Reds (1433) - Flat back 4 and 2CDM
Coach the Blues (1433) - LB, 3 Midfielders and 3 atackers
Targets/Challenges
Blues to score using extra man in wide area (left side of pitch)
Reds to get ball to feeder as quick as possible (direct)
Key points
COACH WHAT I SEE. Give follwoing points if players are not using width to create overloads.
- Blue 3 plays 1-2 with Blue 11 and crosses
- Blue 3 plays into 11, plays into 10, plays into overlapping 3.
-Play ball down right hand side to make reds shuffle across, then switch play to make most of extra man.
Rest of team - Coach striker's movement in box and support play from Blue 10 and midfielder. One midfielder to provide cover.
Although wide right isn't involved as much ensure he shuffles across to help central midfielders if attack breaks down.
Progressions - add Red wide player to cause problem for Blue left. No easy overload therefore movement and passing must be better.
