Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Box Midfield Control to Attack

Creating and Finishing in and Around the Penalty Area

Session Plan: 

Players will build-up with their "Box Midfield" and will need to combine a number of passes to progress the ball out, players can break out either through the Wingers or ST.

Coaching Points:

• Give players relevance to why they are building in the "Rondo" - reference to players they will control this zone on the pitch to draw opposition in to create the space in and beyond the opposition. 
• When the Wide Player receives the ball the players should react by one moving wide to support and create the overload whilst other midfielders look to "crash the box" with one hanging on the outside to shoot from range or recreate the goal.
• When playing the ball into the Striker, Supporting CAMs need to be aware how the can support the Striker and be aware of the Winger to create a "3rd Man Run" Situation.

 Number Contingencies:

10 Players - Remove a CB from Grey

11 Players - Remove a Wide player from Red (Cut off the wide area for the playing zone)

12 Players - As Shown (+GK)

13 Players - Add a CB to Grey (Create a Back 3)

14 Players Add Extra Player to Grey Midfield
