The purpose of this exercise is to see whether the GK can safely make left hand saves and competently to a given target area
The area behind the back line is included. The Zones marked will give us a chance to see the ability of the GK not only to save but also to direct. The GK is encouraged to be game legal, accurate and safe as if in a match
Use pitch markers or cones wherever possible
The feed of the ball is critical from just behind the Penalty Spot and must be by hand at a comfortable speed and height between waist and shoulders not intending to score by pace and between 2 markers placed one metre from each post
The GK has 10 attempts to right hand glove only to clear the ball and any ball fed outside this mark have to be taken again
IF FEED IS INACCURATE PLEASE REFEED AND DO NOT COUNT THE INACCURATE FEED+
IF GK MAKES A STICK SAVE AND BALL GOES INTO THE AREAS DO NOT YOU CAN COUNT IT. BUT REMEMBER WE ARE ENCOURAGING USING THE GLOVE AS A BIGGER SURFACE AREA AND WE CAN SEE MOBILITY
Only 1 minute is allowed for all 10 balls

The scores are marked clearly on the picture and different coloured cones should be used in the exercise
The total target score is 25 for each hand and this should gives us enough information as to the ability of a GK
