Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions): During this session, they will look to switch play from wing to wing by using the midfielders and switch the play. they will do this by playing down one wing and making sure one midfielder goes over to support, and either the striker or attacking midfielder needs to go over and support and allow the winger to play it back in and hopefully move the ball to the other side. the reason we want to switch the play is it will enable the attacking team to move the defensive side to side and hopefully create holes in the defensive. we want to make sure we have a triangle on each wing so if we can create anything; we can move it quickly to the other side. making sure the players are in the positions we want is important, as we want the wingers and fullbacks to be 1v1.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets: During the session, if they aren't playing out wide or switching the play, we can create a condition that they can only score if they switch the play at least once. A physical component of switching play is the speed and agility it takes to make the movement and switch the play. for example, when the winger uses their speed to beat the defender down the wing, pushing the defence back and creating space. the agility would come in when the midfielder receives the ball on the half turn how quickly can they turn with the ball and play it to the other side.
