 Give out pinnies as they arrive but fix teams based on age and then skill level if needed

Ball Mastery

9:30-10:00

Basic Ball Mastery 

Dribbling: 

  • Laces, Inside/Outside, Sole. Left foot & Right Foot for all. 
  • How many touches can they get in 1 minute x3
  • When coach says go, dribble to an outside cone 
  • Tick-Tocks, Toe Taps, Push Pulls, High Ball Control.
  • Give each movement a number and on coaches call the players must complete movement.

Game

10:00-10:30

Game 1 - King of the ring 

Players dribble around the area trying to knock the other players balls out of the area while protecting their own.

Small touches, close ball control, keeping your head up, ball manipulation to keep ball away from opponent, dribbling into space, spacial awareness 

Game 2 - Splat Monsters

Players dribble around the area trying to avoid the splat monster who is trying to tag the players by throwing a pinnie at their soccer ball. if the player is caught they are now stuck and must pick up their ball and hold it about their head. To be freed, another player can pass their ball through the stuck player's legs.

Drill 1

10:50-11:20

Drill 1 - Defend the line

  •  Players 1 are defenders and Players 2 are attackers.
  •  Player 2 checks to the middle cone and demands a pass from Player 1.
  •  Player 1 passes the ball and then checks to defend the line.
  •  Player 2 scores by dribble past the line at any point. Player 1 must stay along the line, they can only move left to right.
  •  Switch roles every 3/4 minutes 
Progression
  • Defenders can now move forward
