3 Zone Game (30 mins)
Objective is for team in possession to score a goal by passing the ball in to their target player.
Set-Up
- Team is split in to formation across three zones (Def/Mid/Att).
- Initially players must remain within their designated zone.
- Ball starts in hands. The ball must be passed through each zone before passing to target player. Whoever scores then switches with target player.
Progressions
- Ball goes to ground. Same game.
- The player who passes forwards can join in to next zone.
- Final 5 minutes = Zone removal (Free Play)
- Move into game with goals involved.
Coaching Points
- Awareness and positioning to play forwards in to the next zone.
- Body shape to receive the ball.
- Can the team regain shape qucikly when possession is lost?
