Organization: 30 x 40 yard space with mini goals at each end
Instructions: Activity - 3v3 or 4v4 Small-sided, we want players to focus on receiving the pass and scanning to find the next pass or the goal. Games should be 5 minutes.
Coaching Points: (Every 2 minutes about at the start of the activity)
· Pauses for coaching points - When players receive on the back foot and complete a pass in the run of play pause the game a praise them and then walk the players through what happened and why it happened show it a few times then let play resume from that point.
Pause for coaching points when players are struggling to pass the ball to teammates and show them how to do it and then what to do next, show the action with instruction a few times, ask players guided questions as you demonstrate, where should I move to get the pass, how should I receive the pass? If Im not receiving the pass where should I move to get a pass or score?
Adjustment if too challenging :
1. We are not seeing the desired player actions - 2 passes before we can score
2. We are seeing players have very little success in passing and receiving. Defenders Can only steal passes not off players feet.

9v9 Training Game or 7v7
Coaches - Set teams up in a formation and give positions. Give them a pre game talk keep it short and relate it back to our session objective (pass and receive the ball)
During this phase we will allow players to play and instead of directing we will ask leading questions during the live play. We want players to be thinking and thinking positively. We have been talking about scanning, body position, and off ball movement. We will ask players; Where Can they be? Where should they go? What shape are we searching for?
Halftime team talk-
When are we getting close to goal more when we pass or dribble Why do we think this happening?
Post game team talk -
When were you great and when where we great? (get as many players to share or think about there postive moment.)
