Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): 1v1 3 gate competition.

Set Up: Area 10x10 yrds with gates set up in 3 corners 2 wide gates & 1 straight gate, def vs attack in opposite corners with Def starting with balls in 1 set of gates with attackers facing them.

Format: 3 min games attack vs defence, defender plays into attacker who attempts to score by dribbling & stopping ball in any of the 3 gates. 2 wide gates = 1 point, straight def gate = 3 points. Teams keep their score to make it a competition. Rotate roles after set time. 

Key points: 1. identify the space where you want to go & timing of move 

2. manipulating body to throw defender off-balance to open up the space 

3. big touch around defender to accelerate and attack the space
