Middle are is 3v1. Obejective is to string together a minimum of 5 passes without the defender getting the ball. If defender gets it, the ball is passed out wide. If defnder cannot win the ball, the coache will shout to switch the play and play the ball out to the wide players. It then becomes 5v3

Organization:
25x25 area divided into three rectangles: 5yd rectangle in the middle, and two 10yd rectangles on the outside. 3 teams of 4. Lots of balls.
Instructions:
Objective is for the outside teams to connect a pass between the middle defending team. All balls must be played on the ground. Middle team can send one player into the outer rectangle to defend, all other players stay in their rectangle. Each time a pass is completed middle team sends a new defender in so it is always 4v1 in the outer rectangles. If ball is lost coach plays a new ball in to the other side.
Option 1: Play for two minutes, then switch defending team. See which teams can make the most passes.
Option 2: If the defending team gets possession of the ball they pass it to the team who did not give it away and change places with the team that lost the ball.
Coaching Points:
- Look to split defenders
- Quick square passes to shift defenders and open up the passing lanes
- Awareness from receiving players to find the gaps
- Communication
Progressions:
1. Bonus point if you split two defenders. (So one point if you pass along the sides, two if you split the middle.)
2. The pass across must be a one-touch pass.
