This practice is simulating the final third of the pitch and the aim is to score goals in the most effective way possible. I have made triangles just beside the goal as this is the area where most goals will be created from. In the game I want the players to utilise these positions. When the player has the ball in these areas I want them to pick out a player by crossing the ball, cutting the ball back or drilling it across the box.
Targets
If you score from utilising these triangles you get 2 goals (add this in once you have got rid of the condition)
If you can score in under 7 seconds you get 2 goals.
Challenge
When you get the ball how quickly can you score
Condition
At the beginning, you have to score by using the triangles, then remove this after some time.
Progression
Everyone has to get a touch on the ball before you can score. You can't score before the halfway line, you have to make it into the opposition half.
Coaching points
How to strike the ball (standing foot next to the ball, strike the ball with your laces, look up towards the goal before you go to strike the ball, head over the ball, if low strike the middle to the top of the ball and if high you want to strike the ball in the middle to the bottom)
Passing mechanics
movement off the ball
