Organization: Middle third of field, use cones to mark out positions of central MFs (two 6's and one 8) and wide MFs. One player at each cone. Continuous pattern passing as shown.
Progressions:
1. Add a second player at each cone to function as a passive defender.
2. Add a wall pass down the line between the wide MF and the checking 8 (i.e. after passes #3 and #10).
3. Have wide MF take first touch inside, triggering #6 to overlap wide and receive a ball into space from #8.
4. Players are free to decide where/when to pass.
5. Add 1-2 active defenders.
Coaching Points:
- timing/angle of movement (checking to, backpedaling)
- open body shape
- speed of play

Organization: Expand the attacking half of the field 5 additional yards in length, plus full field width for appx 35 x 65. Attackers now play to one of three targets to score. Receiving target player immediately joins to counter 5v5 (still dribbling through the gates to score). All restarts come from coach, who varies who/where to play in to.
Coaching Points:
- spread the field and find the space
- patience on the ball
- look for numbers up, especially 2v1s
- break lines
Visual Cues:
- recognize when / where to support the attack if the defensive pressure takes away forward play
- recognize when / how to switch the point of attack
- find the gaps to penetrate on the dribble or with a pass
- is the wall pass on to get in behind?

Half field. Attackers play with two 9s, 10, 11, 7. Defenders have three CBs plus two 6s. Attackers start with the ball in midfield and play to goal. Defenders counter to three gates in midfield.
Coaching points:
- Keep it compact, steer play wide
- When CB presses wide #6 drops in to keep 3 players in front of goal
- Transition to attack: find the width (to thwart direct counterpress)

3. Dribble, execute a move (e.g. scissors, roll) at the gate, then get in line
- Run it simultaneously on both sides.
- Progression (shown P): Add a player in the gate, who checks in to receive a pass, turn wide around the gate then dribble to the back of the line.
- Alternate progression (not shown): Player in the gate checks in to receive, sets back to the passer, then opens up wide of the gate at an angle to receive on the back foot, then dribble to the back of the line.
