Skill Practice
Duration 15 minutes max.
1 Ball
Red cones are removed and players are positioned as shown. The aim is for a team to pass the ball from one end zone to the other. Players in the end zones can move anywhere in the zone but not tackle each other or block passes.
Players should remain in their zones and only pass to the adjacent zone.
Look for player movement to find space and short passing. Rotate the players in the end zones regularly.
1. Make areas smaller or bigger as required.
2. Limit number of touches.
3. Use 3 colours, have two neutral players able to move anywhere in zones, and 2 end zone players.

1. Introduce zones across the pitch if needed to reinforce task of short passing. Players must pass into a zone before they can enter it. Only score from inside final third.
2. Award points for completing 5 short passes.
