Football Problem
We dont position ourselves properly when in our defensive structure to send the opposition backwards. this is allowing to many balls to be played in behind our backline
Session Objective
Work collectively in defence to move together as a unit and understand positionally where to be to force the opposition backwardsor sideways
Organisation
6V7 red team maintain posession trying to stretch the blue team. entire blue team must be in the grid that the ball is in to encourage quick transitional speed, forcing direction of play and staying compact as a defensive unit. when blue win the ball they have posession and open up to attacking formation and the red team must all enter the square that the ball is in. the red team can not win the ball back until all players are in the same grid
Progression
Minimum three touch in BP to try and speed the game up
Team Task
BPO team to stay together as a unit
BP team coninue to switch play and maintain shape to stretch BPO team
Player Tasks
BPO team to always ensure that one player presses the ball and the others are cutting off forward passing lanes to try and enourage them to play sideways
Coaches Cues
Movement of BPO team and shape of BP team. Was the passing option the right one. Are all players in BPO working together

Organisation
6v7 in a condensed feild. Red team starts with the ball and the blue is defending in a 4 3 formation replicating 2,3,4,5,6,8
The red team are trying to score and the blue team must force the play back or side ways. they must not make a challenge to win the ball but work on their body position to force play in a direction backward or sideways
Progression
Blue team can now challenge and try to score if they win the ball in 10 seconds
Team Task
BPO team to maintain structure and remain tight
BP team coninue to switch play and to create holes in the defensive team to play forward
Player Tasks
6&8 ensure they are getting goal side of their opposition so we can dictate play
3&4 ensure they are side on and behind the 9 to force play backwards
Coaches Cues
Movement of BPO team and shape of BP team. Are all players in BPO working together to force direction of play. Are 6&8 getting in the right areas and is 3&4 positioned side on for the through ball. Was the passing option the right one for the BP team.

Organisation
Ball mastery for 5 minutes. 1 v 1 defending 5 minutes start by shadowing only as the player goes from one end of the grids to the other. when they get to the other side they swap attacking and defending roles
Progression
no longer a passive defender. if they win the ball they try and get it over the ned zone to acheive a point. keep score and the one that gets over the end of the defending players zone the most is the winner
Team Task

Coaches Cues
positioning side on so they can recover quickly, can they stay on their toes, are they moving the attackers where they want them to go
