Split rondo possession and third man run build up
BP team need to complete 8-10 passes to score, BPO must dribble the ball out to score. Only 2 defenders are allowed into a half at once.
All about drawing a defender with the bounce pass and then taking his advantage of the space behind
If the second defender comes to block the passing lane to the furthest man then their effort has opened up the channel to the far side.

4v4v4 or (3v1 + 2v2 + 3v1)
Team in BP must try to get the ball from one side to the other to score a goal. When the ball is played into the middle third one man from the end is allowed to join those in the middle to imitate a third man run, it may not be the man who passes the ball into the middle. If the team in BPO win the ball they must dribble over the out line to score a goal.
Key Messages:
- Timing of the third man run, commitment and pace
- Players on the end should be aiming to hit the far midfield player in order to lay off for a runner
- Players in the middle give space to the end zone, don't create anxiety via lack of space
- Vision, scanning and body shape from the players in the end zone is imperative. Always take the first touch forward if possible.
Duration: 4x 3mins. 1min rest. (16mins)

7v7+1 Thirds
Teams try to play through the thirds in order to score, as in the previous game when a ball is played into the middle zone from the end zone a "third man" may enter to receive creating a 4v2. When the ball is played into the attacking third 2 may enter making a 4v3+GK. Touches are limited to 3 in the back and middle thirds but unlimited in the final third.
In the build up phase with the keeper they have a 4v2 so encourage the keeper to be 100% involved. Move the ball quickly to find a free man facing forward. Once we find a man facing forward at least one should be ready to support he next pass into the middle zone where we will have a 3v2 situation. We will progress the drill and take away the neutral so the middle will be a 2v2.
If lower on numbers: 6v6 +GK's (3-2-1 formation)

Passing Activation (5 mins)
Passing activation, bounce pass and third man run.
Start off with our usual warm up passing pattern with the play through, bounce, follow your pass, sprint to the back of the line.
Then add these two new patterns in. The rotation doesn't change but maybe add another player behind the first receiver so we aren't waiting for the next guy to get there when we receive on the end. If they are doing really well then let them choose which pattern they would like to do and they must react.
Key messages:
- When you are the bounce man be sure to 'open the channel'
- Don't get in bad habits of just following the pattern be actively scanning and reacting
