Set-up

1-2-1 passing, keep the ball through the cone gates

Start with two touch.

Once established rhythm nearside players rotate along the line after 3 passes to the next partner (end of line sprints back to 1st gate)

Rotators swap roles

Set-up

Row of coned squares/gates, players start working in twos

Nearside row of players feed the ball by hand to partner who needs to volley back, alternationg from left to right foot

Feeders/receivers swap places after a few minutes

Coaching points

Server to "drop" the ball in at the right angle, typically aiming for just below the knee

Receiver to open body shape to properly, not leaning too far back etc

Receivers to rotate along line after 3 returns

Reset the practice to beginning, but receivers now have to stand on one leg....again progressing to rotating along the line after 3 returns

Reset practive to beginning, feeders now have two balls, one to be passed along the floor and returned back and then another fed in by hand to be volleyed back immediately after receiver has passed back...again progressing to rotating along the line after 3 returns

Repeat again - receivers to control on thigh (or chest) before volleying back
