Players on the outside each have a ball to begin. Blue players on the inside of the circle move towards a black team player, call for and receive the ball and play it back to the same player. (Start by playing the ball on the ground and returning the ball with 2 touches.) Inside players then move through the circle and find a different outside player to receive & pass with. Every 2 minutes have the teams switch inside/outside roles.
GK's perform the same skills as the rest of the team.
OBJECTIVES:
Elevate the heart rate, physical movement, mental awareness, improve technical coordination.
A high volume of touches on the ball.
Focus on scanning and space awareness
Gradually Increase the tempo and intensity leading towards a more game-like situation.
PROGRESSIONS:
Progress to 1 touch ground passing
The coach will call out various instructions to focus on touch/control/passing with different body parts- control out of the ball in the air with the foot, control with the thigh, control with chest, control with head, heading back, volley or half volley passing.
the coach will call out various instructions for all the players when not in possession of the ball completing a range of dynamic body motions to ensure proper warmup. ( open and closing of gates, lunge steps, truck twist etc)

The black team look to create width and depth from Primary and Secondary positions as soon as they gain possession to create opportunity for the quick attack from zone 3 to zone 4
Angle and Distance of supporting players around the ball and away from the ball-create space for passing lanes & to become an option

Coach is positioned behind the black team players to see their viewpoint, initially on black team byline, but can move down the touchline as the play progresses from zone 3 to zone 4 for best viewing angle as the focus is on flank play
INSTRUCTIONS:
Regular scoring but the ball must be played by Black to the left flank zone before it can be played into the central area of the field while progressing from zone 3 to 4. Goals directly from a cross in zone 4 worth 2 points.
Blue team counter-attacks to mini-goals.
If the ball goes out on the left touchline but it is a Black possession, they can throw in and continue play. Any other restart ball is played in from Black team CB.The Black team must move the ball out to the Flank channel for at least one touch before progressing the ball to the net.
COACHING POINTS:
Challenge Black team players how they can utilize the attacking principles penetration, support, width/depth, mobility, and creativity/improvisation to quickly penetrate the Blue team defence and progress the ball into zone 4 on the flank.
Timing and angle of runs into the wide-area by CM, W or F
Quality cross in Zone 4 into the box for F to play on to and passes into CM
Angle and Distance of supporting players closest to ball and away from the ball
