2. Vary surfaces of foot
3. Head up
4. Change of pace
5. Change of direction
Practice Layout
The Practice will require 12 players
White coned area 28m x 18m around the outside

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
1. Continue to use diagonal square areas.
2. Create gates in all four corners of the squares using two cones for each gate
3. 3 red bib and 3 blue bib players in each square
4. One ball for each square with spare footballs located each end of the square.
Organisation – Player A starts with the ball and passes it to player B.
Player B dribbles the ball and aims to dribble it through one of the opposite gates (this gives them a point) - Player A applies pressure quickly.
If Player A successfully tackles them, they try to dribble through opposite gates.
Players return to the back of queue and next pair play.
Adaptations(Progressions & Regressions)
Progressions: Individual/Group - if they are using their dominant foot all the time, can they try with their less dominant foot. (This can be put to an individual or the group) depending on success.
Regressions: If there isn't a high success rate dribbling through gates - remove gates and they can dribble over the back line for a point.
Also ask Player A to allow Player B To start dribbling before applying pressure so quickly.

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
1. Area stays the same and centre cones removed
2. Goals introduced at each end of the area
3. Use 12 flat cones, 6 of each colour. Create 3 gates in each half of the same colour.
4. 6 players organised in one coloured bib and 6 players within another
5. One ball is needed for the game with spare footballs located around the area.
Organisation- Regular match rules apply except players can aim to dribble the ball through the gates of their team’s colour. If a player scores a goal without running through agate, it still counts as 1 goal. However, every gate a player dribbles through multiplies the amount a goal is worth. For example, if a player was to dribble through 2 gates, then score, their goal is worth 3 points.
.
Adaptations(Progressions & Regressions)
Progressions: Make the gates smaller or place the majority of the gates in the centre
Regressions: Can make the gates bigger or spread out the gates
Challenges,Conditions,Targets:
Challenge playersto dribble through at least one gate before they can shoot.

Technical Practice
1. Area split into four equal squares
2. 6 players organised in red bibs and 6 players in blue bibs
3. Players to have a ball each and additional balls around the area
Organisation – Red bib players in one square and blue bib players in the square diagonally to them. Players asked to dribble around the square, highlighting the mechanics. Encourage players to use 'inside; 'outside' and 'sole' of foot.
Keeping the ball close (not RWB), keeping head up to scan the field. Ensure players are changing pace and direction, moving in and out of the players around you.
On whistle red group and blue group must dribble with the ball over to the box that is diagonal to them. Focus is on keeping the ball close to feet and eyes up to avoid collisions.
Adaptations (Progressions+ Regressions)
Progressions: As kplayers to use their less dominant foot.
Add gates into the area for players to dribble through - how many can they get through in 2mins.
Regressions: If the pitch is congested and players are finding it difficult - put 4 players in each coned square (not just half) allowing them a bigger space to dribble in.
