Block 3, week 4
This week we want to try and get the GK's moving through the goal at speed having regard to where the ball is and reacting accordingly

Movement:
Theme:
Getting the GK's to start to use their feet in an effective way.
Objectives:
To develop various methods of moving around the box
Instructions:
GK to start at the 1st cone and jog forward slowly, upon reaching the marker he is to burst to a sprint until the end. GK then returns to the end of the group, each GK to move through 5 times.
The method of moving through the exercise must be changed, ie:
crossing feet
backwards / forwards
forwards / backwards
side / sprint
side / side
4's / sprint

Activation:
Theme:
Focus on handling, general activation and footwork
Objectives:
To allow the GK to go through a range of handling, movement patterns and service which will get more intense
Instructions:
Ball to start with the C at a random distance away and to vary the angle
GK to move over the hurdles and then move forward to the marker which is just forward of a 4 yard goal, and set for a throw / volley. Once he has received and returned the ball the GK has to spin off and go through the cones. GK to use lateral and vertical movments

Tactical GK to get in front of ball as early as possible using the correct stride pattern |

Goal Movement
Theme:
Travelling across the goal covering different distances
Objectives:
To ensure the GK is comfortable travelling across the goal into attempts where the C is looking to activly score
Instructions:
The GK steps forward towards ball 1,2 or 3 (coach to call), once he touches it he has to travel across the goal, behind the mannequin in order to get in front of the ball, to face an attempt on goal.
Progression:
The C is to move around to change the angle and shooting distance (this should change the stride / movement patterns)
Move the position of the ball every time
Coaching points:
The GK is to move as effectivly as possible throughout the goal in order to get in front of the ball
GK to watch for trigger and set in front of ball

The coaches will always start from either 1 or 2 who can take a touch and shoot or pass to any of the outfield players, the GK has to react accordingly
