Organisation:
Setup a 30 x 30 pitch with three channels with three different 1v1 games being played on each of the pitches.
A) Attacker receiving with their back to goal to score. (Attacker plays ball into attacker)
B) Attacker can dribble in and has two goals to score in that are next to each other. (Defender passes to attacker)
C) Attacker can dribble in and has one goal to score in. Rotate who’s attacking and defending after a set time limit as well rotate who’s playing on each pitch. (Defender passes into attacker)
Depending on numbers you can play 3 going on at the same time as suggested or if numbers are lower 2 or 1 at a time is also fine.
Blocks - 2 mins per section then swap other. 6 x reps with 1 minute rest total time = 18 minutes
Coching Points:
Remember basic defending principles:
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation:
This is can be played as a 6v6 plus goalkeepers (+2) game or if numbers are lower a 4 v 4 plus goalkeepers (+1 or +2 in middle). • Approximate dimensions for the pitch are 50m x 35m for older age groups and 40 x 30 for younger age groups. The middle channel is 10m deep.
In each end third, there is a 3v3 or a 2v2 with this being split into attackers and defenders evenly. In the middle zone, there are two neutral players. The diagram shows Team Blue playing from their defensive third into their attacking third and scoring a goal. • In order to move from one third to the other, the in-possession team must play through one of the neutral players in the middle third. • Once the ball enters the attacking third, one neutral player can join in to create a 4v3 in that zone. • If the out-of-possession team win the ball in their own third, they also have to play through a neutral player to advance. If they win it in the final third, they can try to score immediately.
Progression portions:
• You can also allow a player from the attacking third to recover into the defensive third to help defend.
Blocks of 4 minutes with 90 sec rest. 4 x reps = total time 22 minutes.
At the end play a normal game with no conditions.
