-Player A plays a ball on the ground to one side (L and R)
-Player B applies low diving save technique
Key points
-Soft landing on hip and shoulder
-Look for landing of elbow causes problem. Ball goes under and prone to injury
-Head behind ball
-Knee out for protection and swing back in place
-Dive at an angle slightly forwards attacking ball!

Low Diving Saves
Once it is determine th ball i struck wide of the goalkeeper the decision needs to be made as to whether the goalkeeper has the opportunity to move thier feet to get in to the line of the ball. If this i not possible then this technique needs to be implimented.
-Goalkeeper needs to "step" towards the line of the ball with the nearest foot
-By making the intial step it brings the bodywight slightly forward in preparation to make the save.
-With the leg slightly flexed and the bodyweight transfers onto it, the gk will now have the power to dive to his/hers side while bringing bodyweight forward
-Hands should be ball width creating W shape
-Elbows tucked in
-Strong wrists, big palms
