Learning Objectives

Technical
Technical
Passing, which was the aim for our session. Focusing on shorter passing to feet to get the technique right. Control when the pass comes to you, this enables you to keep possession. Tackling now we are in a normally game scenarios, pressing the ball quickly.
Technical
Tactical
Lots of decisions to make for themselves, whether this is passing the ball or dribbling it forward. Pressing the ball to win back possession.
Technical
Physical
This requires all of the ABC’s. (agility, balance, coordination, speed) moving the ball quickly and dribbling around players.
Technical
Psychological
Motor learning is critical. Short and explosive activities to keep them focused, and used to initiate aerobic system. The integration from individuals, to teams. Concentration for the short period they are playing is key.
Technical
Social
Teamwork is important, to be able to pass the ball around as effectively as they can. Communication is also important to let them know where they are. The most important thing at this is to ensure they are having fun.

Small sided game (30 mins)

(Random) - Low repetition, High realism/decision making

Finish off with a small sided game.

See if they can put into practice what they have been learning.

Condition:

Limit touches if there is certain players finding it to easy, or if they are trying to run through everyone, when there is a better option to pass.

Challenge:

Individual players in their passing technique, or a team with how many passes they need to complete before scoring. Could also get them to make sure every team mate has touched the ball before they can score.

Fly by:

Ensure the players are moving into space, to be an option to pass to.

Drive by:

Pull a player to the side just to remind them of the technique, or to move them into space to be an option.

Coaching process (freeze):

Use this method as a break to go through any issues that may have occurred and then remind them of the technique if needed. Use this time to put in any conditions or challenges you want to. Also, time to answer any questions.
