Overview
This is a tactical activity involving attacking transition; its technical components are finishing, passing accuracy and the proper timing of runs. This activity was used by Zeman's famed Pescara side which was renowned for its counter attacking, eventually earning promotion to Serie A in 2012, featuring the likes of Lorenzo Insigne, Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti. In a traditional pragmatic 4-3-3, solely the front three attack the area, with midfielders often lingering around the top of the opposition penalty area. The Zeman system encourages numerical superiority with the two central midfielders joining in, five attackers outnumbering the opposition back four - the ball ALWAYS moves towards goal with purpose.
