1 v 1 to 2 Goals (20 mins)
Objective: Defensive technique of closing down attacker with proper body shape. For attackers, receiving ball with proper body position while collecting toward the next pass and attacking the defender with feints using 1v1 moves at speed.
Instructions: Progression 1 - Player B starts by running toward a Goal and changes direction with feints. Player A tries to tag them. Progression 2 - Same thing but with balls. If they can pass, then Player A passes to B and B attacks the goal using moves. If they can't pass then Player B starts with the ball and starts dribbling, then Player A comes out to defend. Attacker must dribble through one of two gates.
Time: 20 Minutes, switch groups after 4 minutes, then add balls (10 minutes)
Emphasis: Change of direction using feints (bending knee and dipping shoulder). Defender closes down attacker quickly, takes an angle and forces to one side. Knees bent and short stepts as they close down the attacker.
