Activity (30 mins)

Organization and Instructions:

20x20yd (split in 4 10x10, as above).

4v2 Transitional Game.

- 2 Teams vs 1 Team.

- Teams attacking must connect 4 pass inside one zone before moving to a new one. Once the ball goes to a new zone, they must connect 4 pass in there before going to a new one.

- When attacking team changes to new zone, defenders switch roles (active -vs- on wait).

- Defenders win the ball back and to become attackers must: dribble out of the zone, or connect a pass with their teammate outside. Whoever team lost possession (or made the mistake), become defenders.

Coaching Points/Questions:

- Transition Principles (quick reaction, adaptability to new scenarios).

- Decision-Making under changing and high-pressure/small space scenarios.

- Technical concepts linked to passing and receiving (first touch qualitiy and intentionality, body shape, angle of support, ...).

- Defensive intensity: player off the ball (2nd defender) is reading the movement of the ball, ready to put pressure on the ball quick. 1st defender must be agressive on the pressure.

Regressions/Progressions:

R: Bigger size.

P: Touch limitation (2 per player), add a defender outside so they control bigger space on the field.
