Warm Up

Truck and Trailer


SET UP

2 players - 1 ball 

1 player is the truck (at the front with no ball)

1 player is the trailer (at the back with a ball)

Instructions

The (Truck) front player jogs into space at a slow pace and changing direction

The (Trailer) rear player with the ball follows the (Truck) dribbling the ball with close control. 

3 Commands by the coach:

THROUGH

The Truck stops and opens their legs enough for the ball to go through

The Trailer, with control, gently passes the ball through the legs and gets it at the other side

PASS

Both players stop and face each other 1-2 yards apart and make 10 short controlled passes

CHANGE

The players change roles

SET UP



Outside players spread out (with a ball) in a big circle

Middle players (no ball) 

Instructions

Middle Player Runs to an outside player - Takes a touch on receiving the ball - Passes it back - Runs round the player - Then into space to the next outside player

Outside player swap with inside players on the coaches instructions (After 60 seconds - work hard for that time and show control)

Progression

Add 3/5 passes

Outside player softly serves the ball into the middle player by hand to take a touch on knee etc

Middle players keep the ball to dribble and Pass to outside players

Outside players come in on receiving the pass - Middle players swap with outside players etc

3 players - 1 ball - Outside players stay - Middle player moves.

Instructions

Number the players 1-2-3

The 2 outside players stay were they are - take a touch on receiving the ball and pass back to the middle player. 

Middle player asks for the ball - takes a touch on receiving the ball - Turns - Then passes to the other outside player.

Change the middle player after 10-15 passes.
