Finishing - Drill

Key Factors

Movement to receive the ball in space - Individually and as a partnership

attacking underload (2 v 3) realisitc to area of pitch

Receiving - Can forward receive half turned to open up shooting opportunity. First touch into the space, to open up shooting opportunity

Take shooting opportunities early - crowded penalty area, take shots on as soon as possible.

Combinations in tight areas with strike partner to create opportunities.

However, do not force it, if nothing on retain possession of the ball with neutral players, start again with movement to receive.

Type of finish - Accuray/power - surface selection, picking spot, disguise. Correct shooting technique (head over ball/weight forward etc)

Creative Finishing

Follow in shots, for rebounds

44(width of penalty area x 25)

2 Forwards against 2 CB and CDM. 4 Neutral players on the outside.

Ball Played in to forward, they attack the goal attempting to score.

Receive from different feeder each time, to replicate ball arriving from different areas in a game.

Forwards can use neutral players in order to retain posession of the ball.

Neutral players restricted to 2 touch

Player drops in to replace player moving in to area immediately. progression to within 5 seconds to drop out, allowing attack to be 3 v 3 for limited period.

Reds must have a shot within 8 seconds of winning possession.
