PHASE 2: 2 runs each player
* split into 3 pairs with player 1 playing 2 bounce passes of player 2 > 3 and then releasing forward run to play bounce pass of player 5 & then play a wall pass off player 4 to release a 40 yd run back to start for player 6 to complete same run > players 5 & 4 can then start same runs and finishing with players 2 & 3 who switch places with 6 & 1
** this drill has a low fatigue index as players are working on a 1:5 work:rest ratio
** aim to complete run in less than 15 seconds and encourage a high tempo on both passing and runs.

phase 3: 6 x 40 yd sprints with rapid change of direction to simulate quick break on transition
** ball manipulation at speed with change in direction with coach shouting out 1-2-3 chops across midline with player choosing where & when he changes direction
** player finishes 40 yd sprint at opposite end
6 runs each player with 240 yd total

PHASE 4: ball swap sprints
** 2 players working at same time > players 4 & 6 sprint left side channel with ball to central gate zone A and leave ball > sprint back to 1st cone near start position and then > sprint down opposite side and pass partners ball back to opposite end and follow pass > each run 60 yds with each player completing 4 runs = total 240 yds
**progression: same process as above but this time player leaves ball in zone A and then sprints back to nearest cone to start > player then sprints past partners ball in opposite channel and then around furthest cone before returning his ball at start position and finishing same end as start.
4 runs each at 1:2 work:rest ratio = 4 x 90 yds total 360 yds

wall passes
PHASE 1: TECHNICAL BALL MANIPULATION EXERCISE WITH WALL PASSES TO RELEASE EACH GATE
* player 1 plays wall pass of player 2 who has pulled away from central cone to receive > player 1 then chops across the midline to repeat procedure with player 3 > 4 > 5 > player 6 in end gate > after receiving bounce pass from player 6 player 1 dribbles between the gates back to start position
* 1:5 work:rest ratio with touches unlimited to encourage bright/intuitive play > after wall pass each player makes 4 multidirectional movements with emphasis on single leg stabilisation
** on the second set the player who has played the wall pass completes a 4 x 8 yd shuttle run between gates including linear/lateral/backwards & multidirectional
