Session Objective:
This week we are building on the theme of Combo Play, working with players to use short sharp passing and good movements to work the ball from the back to the front

Set Up:
2 Lines of 5 cones, with players lined up behind the first cone
Instructions:
Follow the FIFA 11+ warmup, using dynamic movements. Players should call out loud the action as they start their run
Variation/Progression:
The Coach may hold up different cones or give signals that the players should be aware of and call out loud the correct answers to show they are aware of their surroundings
Key Coaching Points:
Quality is better than speed
Switch on your 'football brain'
Focus on each movement
Player Coaching Points:
How can you do your best in everything?
The coaches are going to ask the football questions, and if you are paying attention, even give you the answers ;)
Are you going to make this your best session ever?
Did you come with the mindset of improving?

Set Up: Players stand face to face with a partner, and a ball between them
Instructions: Players wait for the coach to call out a body part (head, shoulders, knees, toes etc) or ball. The players race to be the first to touch the the body part and when the coach says ball, they have to be the first to pick up the ball. The winner is the person holding the ball.
Key Coaching Points: Focus, listen, react.

Set Up:
10yd squares
6 Players per square (4v2)
One ball per square
Goals with keepers in place
Instructions:
The ball must stay in the area.
4 players (BP) try to keep the ball, and "Split" the 2 BPO players.
2 players in BPO try to win the ball, while not getting "split".
If a "split" pass is made, the BP team can try and score in the nearest goal.
If the 2 (BPO) win the ball, they can shoot at the nearest goal.
If the ball goes outside the area, the 4 (BP) players must touch a corner before they can touch the ball again.
The game goes for 60 seconds
2 new (BPO) players start a new game in the middle
Players keep score how many goals their team can score.
Everyone gets 2 turns in the middle
Variation/Progression:
Harder (BP) - Smaller areas, longer game time, one touch, one player out waiting 3(+1)v2
Easier (BP) - Larger areas, Shorter game time, unlimited touch, 5v1
Key Coaching Points:
(BP) - short sharp passes, stay on your toes, quick feet, ready to defend if there's a turnover, slide up and down the line, look for splitting passes - but don't force it!
(BPO) - Stay close together, don't get split, one press - the other covers, be ready to attack as soon as you win the ball
Coaching comments:
Where can you be to help?
What's the body position of the other person?
What's about to happen next?
Why didn't that work & how can you do it better?
Why did they score & what could you do?

Set Up:
Divide field into 3rds
Mark out "Green" and "Red" End Zones
9 players, (3v3+3) or 11 (4v4+3) if coaches play too
Instructions:
Objective: Get the ball from the "back" to the "front"
Players should always start each round from their zones
Play starts with the neutral player at an end.
When play starts, all players should stay inside their zone, however players can move into different zones after play starts
If the white team can successfully play into the green zone, play switches to the black team tries to play into the red zone
Players should swap starting positions semi regularly, (#2 becomes a #7, #6 becomes a #10 etc)
Variation/Progression:
Add in 2 Coach Players
Players can try and score if they can get the ball onto one of the end zones
Key Coaching Points:
Players should make sharp movements, time their runs and look for overlapping runs to create overloads
Midfielders should always be moving into and out of "helping positions"
Teams can always play back to end neutral player as a safety option.
Players should be mindful that sometimes the way forward is by switching play, and using the other side of the field.
Player Coaching Points:
#3 should always look for movement of players that "want" the ball
#2 & #5 should look for give and goes, or driving runs depending on what the defending team are giving them or taking away
#6 & #10 should be "coming in to help" or "getting out to create space" with their movement
#7 & #11 should receive the ball "on the run" and should try and be "goal side" or "inside" their defender

Set Up:
2 teams setup, with keepers in goals.
Play 8v8 half field (Tuesday) or 11v11 full field (Thursday)
Instructions:
Play 8v8 half field (Tuesday) or 11v11 full field (Thursday)
Players should try and put into practice the things we have worked on in the sessions through the week, and show the coaches and other players why they should be in the starting 11 for the upcoming game
Variation/Progression:
Strikers vs Defenders
Last game's starting players vs the bench and coaches
u15 (with conditions) vs u14
Mix u15 & u14 on each team
Key Coaching Points:
What has been the main focus of this weeks training?
Can you put into 'this game' what we have worked on this week
Show everyone why you should be in the starting line up
Player Coaching Points:
How can you "be better" than the other players wanting to play in the same position
Can you add what we did last week, to what we have done this week?

Set Up:
2 Small mini goals at one end of a small area, marked with cones.
Two teams start at the ends of the area.
Instructions:
One team starts with the balls, and takes turns trying to score, while the other team defends. Players play 1 on 1, and only have one turn each, before swapping ends. Teams should keep count of how many goals their team can score.
One players should be on each side to provide a "give and go" option
If the ball goes outside the area, the turn to score is finished.
Variation/Progression:
Harder for BP - Easier for BPO:
Time limit the games (15sec to score)
Make the goals smaller in size
Make the goals closer together
Allow 2 games to be played at the same time in the same area.
Allow 2 defenders
Easier for BP - Harder for BPO:
No time limit to score
Make the goals larger
Make the goals further apart
Delay the defender (touch a cone, tuck-jumps etc)
Allow second player in to help with BP
