Description

Session starts with DM feeding into shaded area to create a 5 v 2 overload (DM joins in the play). Red team then makes five passes to keep the ball before trying to pass to the striker. Initially the striker is confined to behind the red line (being outnumbered 1 to 4). The red team must then support the striker, as soon as the striker touches the ball the play develops into a 6 on 6 game.

The reds objective is to score past the 'keeper. The yellows must touch the ball in the shaded area.

Progressions:

Make easier for reds: Striker can come deep to receive past the line, but defenders cannot

Make harder for yellows: To score they must get the ball beyond the far line

Make easier for reds: LM and RM players are allowed outside the wide lines and cannot be tackled here, only have two touches though

Make more realistic: defenders can press in wide areas now

Make game-relaistic: Remove the red line

Game must always start with DM though (if ball exits side not in control or beyond the goal-line/goal).
