Individualised (Working on CDM)
Individualised: Concentrate on CDM receiving to play forward / how to get on ball in high press
Set up:
Both teams set up: GK-2-1-2-1 the CDM can play in middle section and defending section..
Play starts from GK, who plays into CB look to find spare player and move through thirds
Pitch
Blocks:
3 blocks of 4 mins work x2 mins rest (Physical output)
1 Minute walk through (Allow players to see session)
1 minute questions or free play
Intervention style: Con currently and terminal
Block 1: Normal game (players stay in their own area) focus on build up through thirds. CDM can you receive ball from GK or CB and bounce the ball to other free CB. Then either receive the ball back or go and support the other midfield players.
Block 2: Work on CDM to get on ball and turn to play forward or carry it forward into next section.
Block 3: Work on CDM getting on the ball under pressure the red team can now come in and press the CDM.
Progression Block 2/3 another red attacker can come into put extra pressure on defensive players.
Conditions:
Passes through each area: (Build up/ spare player)
Would prefer to play through CDM in defending third to play into middle section (Individualised) if he is marked and not available can play forward and see if the CDM can get the next pass
Opposition put pressure on the ball and when you win it back can you score within 10 seconds.
Key Aims/ Points:
Can we play forward and find spare player?
Can we play build up through CDM?
When in possession be patient and move/ switch the play
Can we make the pitch wide and play on outside shoulders?
How does the CDM react when the ball is lost?
Individualised CDM:
Movement and triggers how to get on the ball
See 3 corners of the pitch
Can you break line and play forward?
