SB2: Real Madrid (10 mins)

Need: 1 ball, 4 cones.

Grab a soccer ball and find yourself a little bit of space. A 5 by 5 yards box is enough space!Every skill in the list below you will do for 45 seconds. After each skill you have a 15 second break.


1. In/Out rolls, switch feet after 10 (rolls)

2. Inside foot rolls (rolls)

3. Outside foot rolls (rolls)

4. In/Out/IN rolls alternate (rolls)

5. Inside foot rolls moving (rolls)

6. Outside foot rolls moving (rolls)

7. 4 Boxing touches inside roll (touches)

8. 4 Boxing touches outside roll (touches)

9. 4 boxing touches, in/out roll (touches)

10. 3 Inside rolls Inside foot stop (rolls)


Our first focus is to do the touches right. Make the ball go exactly where you want it to go. When that goes well, increase your pace and keep increasing your pace. The goal in the 45 second work time is to make a couple of mistakes because you are doing the skills just a little quicker than you are capable off. This way you are actually working on improving. Do NOT go at a steady pace you are able to pull off for 45 seconds. If you are not losing control at some point in the 45 seconds, you are NOT pushing yourself hard enough.

2CH1: Two cone horizontal line I (10 mins)

Need: 2 cones, 1 ball.


Place the 2 cones about 2 to 3 feet apart from each other. Start with the ball on one of the sides next to the cone, the ball a little in front of the cone. By using different skill patterns you are going to create an 8 shape with the ball. You will always be facing forward. Once you do a pattern once (half an 8 shape) you will have 1 rep.


Make sure you have 4 patterns in total

Pattern 1: Napoli = L-move, inside foot push, inside foot roll (120 seconds, 30 second rest)

Pattern 2: Fiorentina = 2 footed inside v-move, inside foot roll (120 seconds, 30 second rest)

Pattern 3: Lazio = Pull roll, inside foot push, inside foot roll (120 seconds, 30 second rest)

Pattern 4: Torino = Pull shuffle, inside foot push, inside foot roll (120 seconds, 30 second rest)


Coaching points


- Keep the ball close to you by having soft touches

- Get the ball always a little in front of you, ready to make the next touch

- Always keep facing forward, but turn you hips to create better angles

- Stay on the front part of your foot

- Get your head up after every touch, scanning the field

- Increase pace

Passing Triangle (15 mins)

Passing Pattern:

A -> B -> C, C dribbles to A (3 minutes per direction)

A -> B -> A -> C, C dribbles to A (3 minutes per direction)

Coaching remarks:

- Call for every ball

- Passing and receiving inside foot

- Aiming with plantfoot, hips and swing

- Right pace on the ball

- Pass the ball to the correct (far) foot

- Coach after every pass you make

PDSA 3 Line Skill Drill I (20 mins)

Player C will coach Player B to show towards the left or right, and himself will go the other direction to create a triangle. Player A will pass the ball to Player B and move away from the ball to spread out more. Player B will wall pass the ball back to Player A. Player A will pass the ball to Player C. Player C will receive the ball and dribble at Player A, who will be a defender in a 1v1.


Rotation: A - B - C - A


Coaching Points Player A

- Pass the ball to player B's far foot

- Move away from Player B to spread out, be on your toes and check over your shoulders

- Coach Player B to drop the ball back to you, to your far foot

- Firm passing to play C, one touch if possible.

- Coach Player C he has time


Coaching Points Player B

- Turn open to the field when showing to a side, be on your toes

- Call for the ball on your far foot, check over your shoulders

- Use your far foot for an inside 1 touch drop

- Coach Player A to find Player C after you have dropped the ball back.


Coaching Points Player C

- Coach Player B to show to a side, and move yourself to the other side to create a triangle, be on your toes

- When the ball is passed by Player A to Player B, coach Player B he has a "man on"

- Call for the ball when the ball is being dropped back to Player A, check over your shoulders

- Step to the ball and make an inside foot touch forward, moving into the space in front of you

- Dribble at Player A and try to beat this Player in a 1v1 by using a move

2v1 Continues (20 mins)

The team with 2 players attacks and try to score in the goal the 1 defender is defending. As soon as the ball goes out, the player on the attacking team that is in the longest leaves the field. The defending team will have a player enter the field with a ball. They become the attacking team and play 2v1 now. If the defender steals the ball this player can score (same players stay on the field) or pass the ball back to their teammate next to the goal (switch roles attacking and defending team) Each player plays 3 games (new attacker, defender, old attacker)

- attackers spread out and keep channels open

- Move forward whenever possible.

- Defender tries to split the attackers to create a 1v1
