Session based around the ability of the team to move the ball through the 3 through the 3 thirds of the pitch from a defensive position into an attacking position. When GKs introduced into E3 ensure they continue the playing through the 3rds principles with their distribution.

Time: 30 Minutes
Set Up:
-Same grid remove the staions.
-2 teams of players in a 3-2-3 (have spare players rotating regular).
Exercise:
-Play starts with red CB.
-CB plays a free pass into the first into 3 grid.
-From there the reds play through the thirds of the pitch and score by getting the ball past opposition defensive line (end of each side where CB plays).
Rules:
-CB only play on the outside of the end parts of the grid.
-Team in possession players can move through the thirds in both directions to create overloads.
-Only 1 from each zone can move through zones at each time.
-Example: 1 player from the middle can move into the defensive zone, other must stay in the middle, 1 defender can move forward into the middle zone and so on.
Progression:
-Add a goal 10 or 5 yards at either end and player in possession breaks past the line again but has to score in the goal.
Key Points:
-Fast pace of the passes.
-Players movement all over the various parts of the grid needs to be continuous no matter where the ball is.

-Half pitch across 3G split into 3 even zones.
-teams split with red in a 3-2-3-1, blue in a 4-2-3.
Exercise:
-For first 15 minutes play as per rules similar to E2 with regard player movement through thirds.
-After 15 minutes pass remove zones and have free play.
Key Points:
-Player movement.
-Forward incisive passes when they are on.
-Talking between the players.

Set Up:
-60x40 grid in 3 even zones.
-Set up 10 stations.
-Place players on each station with excess at 1 and 6.
-All excess players at 1 and 6 have a ball each except one as they can receive the pass off 5 and 10 respectively.
Exercise:
-Play starts at 1 and 6.
-Players pass and move through the numbered stations.
-Play for 4 minutes in a anti-clockwise direction as shown above.
-After that 4 minutes change direction to clockwise direction.
-Start at 1 to 10, and 5 to 6 and continue.
Key Points:
-Pace of the passes with intensity of movement between the stations.
-Ensure player are moving off at angles to receive the ball
