Spend a few minutes covering each Foundational Player's characteristics seperately and ensure the players have a good picture of
the characteristics during each scenario.

Organization:
15x20 grid
6-8 players
balls
Instructions:
(as a warm up before we use our feet have the players play a few rounds throwing and catching the ball 2v1 vs the defender . defender can intercept as the ball is passed work on their communications and speed of thought and play.)
1.2 players will start as defenders on the lines of confrontation as shown above, they will then become live as soon as the attacking players enter their grid of play for U8,s defenders can not move off the line only side to side to start with. they will stop defending if the attackers get through their grid .rotate defensive players every 2 mins
2. 2 players will then start at the blue cones at the start of the grid ,using combinations can they combine to beat the defenders 2v1, they each get a point every defender they beat . and make it to the safe line.
3.if they make it to the end they come back racing their partner down the side channel, one will have the ball (the player who touched it last)and do ronaldo touches the other will sprint.the winner will get a further point to add to their score. f they get takled early they must also go into the channels and race back.
Coaching Points:
specific communication
execution & timing off combination
head up before to see space behind defensive block
head up after defencive block is beat to see end product
speed of play 2/1 touch
movement off the ball
disguise 2v1 for 1v1
can we commit the defender
space exploitation
creativity
penetration
width/lenth/depth
Progressions:
1.use the end line now to simulate real game direction points are as shown. the enphasis is to get players to play back into the center were the goal would be in a real game for maxium points.
2.add pugs to the scoring zones and players can now shoot instead if you dont have enough pugs just have them shoot throught the cones .
3. for advanced players add goals both ends to he channel in the center and play 2 v 2 with no restrictions rotate every time a goal is scored or ball gets played out of bounds.

Organization:
1. Area size 20 x 30.
Instructions:
1. Players split up into 4 teams and play a round robin tournament where all teams play.
2. players must not step inside the red cone areas infront of goal this will stop goal tending ,the players must shoot from out side the area
Coaching Points:
over the 8 weeks we would like to start to implement:
1. 3 lines of attack, 1 defender, 1 midfielder, 1 forward.
2.Team mates create gaps, can player in possession look to dribble into them.
3.when to Dribble,Pass or Shoot
4.reinforce the caracteristics of each foundational player and how the use the foot work with the space they have.
Restarts
(Week 7)concepts (depth & lenth) the restarts will be played in with a corner kick in, at this time teach the players the importants of options deeper to pass back to and higher to play forward keep it simple and try to find a point in the game were you can simulate . also, reinforce the team shape if 3v3 you want a triangle two wide players and one player taking the kick.4v4 players must make a dimond one forward two wide and one taking the kick the players can also play in a square but for goal kicks we want to reinforce playing wide
first pass is free and feel free to manipulate the other team to create succesess. after a while lift the restriction and get the players to play quicker when the ball goes out .
Rules
the secondary learning outcome give each team 5 points at the start of the tournament ,they will loose points for bunching up and getting to close to their players. also, they can win points by making a successful pass or move to beat the player. coach will judge .
along with wins 3points draws 2points and losses 1point the team with the most over all points including bonus points will win the tournament at the end of practice.
