Crossing & Finishing Wave (15 mins)

3 Groups of 4

1 Group will passively defend against the attacking team (their aim to work an offside trap)

- Attacking looking to play combination play leading to a cross from wide for the 3 other teams to try and score.

Once wave has ended the attacking will become the defenders and the previous defending team will collect the ball & make their way to the halfway line to prepare for the attacking whilst the 3rd group are attacking.

Key Coaching Points:

- Timing of runs to prevent from being offside.

- Quality of passing in combination play.

- Type of cross into the box. (Drilled low/ floated in the air/ pull back from byline/ flat in the air)

- Support (overlapping and underlapping runs)

- Communication (where the runs from deep? where are they going to)

- Awareness of teammates and opposition around you on, around & away from the ball.

- Be Creative to make create different ways to exploit overloads in different areas of space.

- Play At Pace.
