4 Line Crossing & Finishing (20 mins)
Title:4 Line Crossing & Finishing
Purpose:
Wide players drive (dribble) the endline and deliver a cross to teammates crashing the goal.
Organization & Objective:
Create 4 lines 15-20 yards from goal. Players split into each line. Coach has all the soccer balls in between the middle two lines. Coach plays a pass to the wide player who then dribbles towards the endline. The other 3 players crash the goal with staggered-timed runs. The wide player plays an angled pass through the gate at the end line and the 3 crashing players bury the cross into the net. Have players remain in their same lines for 2-3 minutes before rotating.Progressions:
Play to the left wide players.
Have one of the central lines play the passes wide.
Challenge the group to score X number of goals with X number of attempts.
Coaching Points:
- Wide player with the ball is to dribble at speed towards the endline.
- Wide player plays a centered pass, on the ground across the box.
- 3 crashing players assume 3 different runs (Near post, middle, back post or trash pickup).
- Crashing players make good contact with the ball and put it on net.

Organization & Objective:
5 - 8 players/group. One or two balls. Cones are placed in a diamond shape 8-10 yards from one another. Distance can be increased to 12 yards for older age groups. Players start by speed dribbling to the next cone and laying the ball off. Progress into playing a pass and following your pass. Play for 60-75 seconds before reversing direction.

9v9 Goal Kick Build Up - Walk Through (15 mins)
Title: 9v9 Goal Kick Build Up
Purpose:
Walking through the positional responsibilities and options we have from a goalkick.
Organization & Objective:
Set your team up in a 3-2-3 formation + the goalkeeper. No defenders. If you play a different formation, then this can be adjusted. Start the ball with the goalkeeper as if taking a goal kick in a game. The ball should be placed on one corner of the small box to indicate to all players the direction that the build up will start. From there, every player has a responsibility. If placed on the right side of the box, the right defender, right midfielder, same side center mid, and striker should form a diamond as indicated in the animation. The same side mid should "Paint their boots" meaning feet should be on the sideline. CM stays central and striker stays high, keeping the diamond shape. The center back offers a back supporting option. The opposite side center mid, defender, and outside midfielder tuck in. If the ball gets placed on the left, the left side defender gets ready to receive, left midfielder paints the boot, and the CM and striker move across to form the diamond. Everyone else shifts. Walk through this process with the team. THEN, set a challenge that the team must keep their shape, every player must touch the ball, and then you can score. Time them to see how effective and efficient they can be.
