Same setup as in the warm up but now we have static defenders which MUST be players (not cones etc). Defenders can try and tackle the ball but only within their boxes. Dribblers start with 5 points and gain points for entering and exiting a defender's box whilst keeping the ball but lose a point if tackled. Dribblers also lose a point for losing the ball out of the main area or by clashing with another dribbler.
Coaching Points/Considerations:
1) Am I aware of what space I can move into whilst avoiding dangers?
2) Can I sneak into the square whilst defender is busy?
3) Can I attack a defender if I have to with purpose and pace?
Progressions:
1) Defenders can now move out of their boxes but must go back into a box before attempting to tackle another dribbler.
2) Make playing area shorter
3) Add more defenders

2v2+2 or 3v3+3.
Attacking team can use the support players on the outside to attack the defenders to score by dribbling the ball into the opposite end zone. If defenders win the ball they can try and attack back immediately (transition).
Coaching Points/Considerations:
1) Can I pass or dribble?
2) Is the space there for me to attack?
3) Isolate 1v1 or attack the space?
4) Using different parts of feet, turning, change of pace etc.
Progressions:
1) Remove support players
2) Funnell pitch to have breakouts and really congested areas
3) Have overload of defenders - Breakout and congestion again

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
4v4 or 5v5 - Players must dribble into the end zone before shooting at goal.
Considerations:
1) How can I effect play? Can I make a forward pass or can I move into space to isolate a defender or have a clear path to goal?
2) Balance risk and reward - Where are the safe areas to play and whats around me.
3) How am I receiving the ball? Am I recieving so I can impact play immediately? Or do I need to turn?

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Progression:
1) Could have the centre circle as an area where players must recieve in, breakout from (using dribbling) and then can score.

Dont Use alone - Couple with Warm up
Dribbling in a very tight area as a warm up - Each player has a ball.
*Heart Raisers! On command, touch outside line and get a new ball. Slowest person does climbs*
Coaching Points/Considerations for Players:
1) Can I predict the space based on other player's movements?
2) Am I aware, checking and scanning?
3) Can I change my speed dependant on space available?
4) Am I challenging myself?
Progressions:
1)Weaker foot
2) Tick Tock
3) Bottom of feet
4) Outside of the foot - When possible
5) Turns on command (Cruyyf, dragback, outside of foot) - Awareness?
6) Laces - Where possible
7) Tighten Space
