Activity Name: 2v1 Circuit
Activity Description: Arrange players as in the diagram. The 1st player in each group go at the same time. This player runs, without a ball, around the cone on the opposite side of the area. As the player comes around the cone the player who is waiting in that group plays a pass to the player and then joins them going to goal as the 2nd attacker (they should work on different combinations - Parallel pass, give and go's, etc, going to goal unopposed). Once the ball has gone out the player who passed the ball in and became the 2nd attacker now runs around the other cone and repeats the sequence with the next player in that group. The player who came out as the 1st player rejoins their group and gets ready to go again.
Variations: Add a defender and now the players go 2v1. Switch defenders every few minutes.
Coaching Points:
- Good communication between the players - verbal and visual.
- Quality technique - passing, control, finishing.
- Use of different combinations with correct execution in the 2v1s.

Activity Name: Run Around
Activity Description: Play a regular game or modify based on numbers. For larger groups have subs or a 3 team rotation. The two teams who are playing play a regular game. Randomly the coach will shout out numbers. Whichever numbers the coach shouts must immediately leave the court and run around one of the cones off the court. Coach should create different scenarios (shout 2 numbers and create a 2v2 situation, shout 3 numbers and create a 1v1 situation, shout a team color and a number to create a numbers up situation..."red 2 and 3"...this would create a 5 v 3 situation).
Coaching Points:
- Players should recognize the situations which have been created with the numbers being shouted. If it is a numbers up situation look to attack quickly and take advantage of the situation. If it is a numbers down situation protect the ball if you have it or low pressure defend and cut off passing angles if you do not have it.

Footwork & Sole Control (15 mins)
Activity Name: Footwork & Sole Control
Description: Players work through cones using different footwork patterns. Combinations should include:-
Right foot only (two touches inside and two touches outside of foot).
Left foot only (two touches inside and two touches outside of foot).
Roll the ball with one foot and tap it forward with the other.
Insides only.
At the final cone they play a pass to the player opposite them and then takes their place (in addition to regular passes have players work on 'puntazo' (toe poking). Player receiving the ball does the following (spend 2-3 minutes on each):-
- Receives sole of foot and rolls on a diagonal.
- Receives sole, performs sole delay and scoops to the side over the cones.
- Receives sole, performs sole delay and rolls across body.
Progression:
After completing the pass to the player opposite the player who just dribbled through the cones moves towards the end player and is a passive defender. The player receiving the ball now works on attacking moves (scissors, side-steps, Ronaldo's, step-overs, etc) to beat the passive defender - THE PASSIVE DEFENDER DOES NOT TRY TO WIN THE BALL.
