Players need to understanf the use of directional control in a game setting. Why? allows them to play the ball directly into space OR attack into space not allowing the opposition to settle defensively. Why2? Allows us to play the ball to the player behind or retreat the ball to the Keeper with one touch, instead of stopping the ball. Why3? Allows players to eliminate opposition for a shot on Goal OR a play forward.

DIRECTIONAL CONTROL (GAME)
-Red vs. White (each team assigned one Keeper)
-Coach plays the ball to one of the Keepers
-Once the ball is played, 4 players per team must get into play
-Game is ongoing unless there is a goal or the ball goes out.
COACHING POINTS
1. Players must always get their 1st touch in a direction (avoid stopping the ball), to play at a faster and more time efficient pace.
2. Space is tight, so players should play the ball forward as quickly as possible.
3. Dribble can be implimented in the game for a reason to get into space or breakaway towards the goal, however the 1st touch must be in mouvement.
4. Space awareness is extremely important prior to receiving the ball, this way players will know once to get the ball if they can penetrate into the space to attack the goal, eliminate the opposition, create an attacking play or play the ball in retreat to the Keeper.
