Organisation:
3v3 +GK and Target Player
Practice starts fro the GK playing it long into the target player who then plays it out to one of 3 attackers.
3v3 to score
Attackers can score from anywhere but defenders can only defend outside the semi circle.
Attacking players are asked to keep the ball moving side to side and back to front until the coach indicates that they can attack.
Ball should not stop moving
Coaching Points:
As the ball moves across the 3 defenders get across the field as a unit maintaining a sensible distance between each other.
All the coaching focus is is on the movement as group. ie. closest player presses and the others follow.
When the coach indicates that the attacking team can attack the covering and following runners is very important.
The field is deeper in the wide areas so wide players can afford to delay the play, show the player outside and make the tackle. Although in the central areas the field is higher and defenders cannot retreat beyonf the markers. This means when the ball is transferred across or back by the attackers the defenders must get across and up/out!
Offside rule applies
Goalkeeper should take responsibility to organise and push the defenders up whenever possible

Organisation:
3v4 + GK and Neutral Target Player
Practice starts from the Goalkeeper distributing out to the Target Player who then passes out to one of three attacking players.
Attacking Player can score at any time defenders look to win the ball and hit the target player.
A line of cones is laid down the centre of the field. This is a guide for defending team.
Rule: If the ball is on one side then everyone of the defenders work hard to get across to that side of the field.
Coaching Points:
Defenders aim to keep themselves goalside but also press to a sensible height up the field.
The shape should be 3 and 1 higher up the field. This player gives the cue to press. As tey press the defenders behind also press.
