The number 2 - Positive touch forward
Entry ball into 9 needs to be *strong*
Set the number 9 up for one touch
Coaching:
- Number 9: Game-like check in. Can you fake run and time it as the number 2 gets the ball?

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
4 - positive touch
Angled pass into 6
2 run in behind
Coaching:
- 2 fake check in. As ball is getting to 6, can we explode forward?

Pressure defending: DONT PRESS - interceptions only
- Block the pass (Choice between blocking pass to 2 or 6)
**Once pass reaches 2 or 6, defense is done**

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Off - Use patterns we’ve learned to reach 9 (Once 9 receives, defense is done)
Defense is LIVE

MIDBLOCK - Staying compact, keeping the play in front of us, and denying chance on goal
Offense - Trying to build up and score. (Only 1 CB allowed past red line)
**Take care of the ball**
**Can we create numbers up situations to lure defense out of position?**
Coaching:
- Tempo
- if we lose the ball, we PRESS to get it back
- if press is broken, we recover back into shape
**Prevention Shape/Rest defense** - CBs shift according to where the ball is

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
HIGH PRESS - Constant Pressure on the ball, force them backwards, anticipating a mistake
Defense - move in sync together
**The 9 initiates the press**
Coaching:
- If we get them pinned in, a tackle, deflection, or foul even. CANT LET THEM OUT bc we’re out of shape and we have to sprint 50yds if they switch
Offense - CDM, if CBs are getting pressed, we can drop in to provide an outlet, and bait the defense out (create space in midfield)
**Speed of thought + speed of play**
** Where is the space now? In behind**
Coaching:
CBs tuck in when we lose ball, and have the responsibility of pulling the fullbacks back into shape.
